A small commercial property in a vibrant Kansas City neighborhood was reimagined to maximize indoor-outdoor activities and create high curb appeal. The owner was committed to developing the site to its fullest potential, focusing on flexibility and user experience.
Working with landscape architects, the redevelopment centered around a tree allee as the primary feature of the site improvements. This design choice allows for maximum flexibility regardless of the eventual tenant or commercial use. The layout features a comfortable arrival sequence, guiding visitors from a higher parking area to a lower landscaped terrace with flexible outdoor spaces.
The landscape design prioritizes accessibility and improved drainage while creating an inviting atmosphere. By carefully planning the circulation paths, the new layout encourages exploration and engagement with the outdoor environment. The terraced design not only adds visual interest but also serves functional purposes, addressing the site’s topography and drainage needs.
The goal of this project is to create a versatile commercial space that seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor experiences, providing an attractive and functional environment for both tenants and visitors. The thoughtful landscape design and site improvements aim to enhance the property’s value and appeal within its vibrant Kansas City neighborhood context.
