What happens when a community gathers to restore the landscape that defines home?
Connections deepen. Volunteers don’t just plant, they learn to recognize the species that once defined this region, understand why they matter, and become stewards of something larger than themselves. Community-driven restoration creates a sense of shared ownership and responsibility that lasts long after the planting day ends.
We saw this in action on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025, when over 100 volunteers showed up to help us plant over 5,500 native species at Arrowhead Stadium, bringing the prairie back to the Truman Sports Complex just in time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
From first-time planters to seasoned gardeners, hands in soil, working together to create something that will bloom for years to come. We appreciate everyone who showed up with gloves, shovels, and community spirit. And to our partners The Missouri Department of Conservation, Deep Roots, and KC Native Pitch for making this possible.
